Kinross Lodge Construction

26 May 2023

Photo of construction equipment, pipes, and mounds of dirt in an otherwise empty lot.

Construction is underway on the Kinross Lodge East temporary housing project! Kinross Lodge East, LLC is leasing land from Kinross Charter Township to provide dormitory-style lodging for the Soo Locks construction crew contracting with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. They are currently installing the infrastructure to access our water and sewer system, at their cost. No taxpayer funds are being used to subsidize this independent project, which will be paying market rates for all utilities and is hoped to bring plenty of new customers to local businesses. Once the project ends, Kinross Lodge East, LLC will be taking down the buildings in order to return the land to its prior state. If residents have any questions about the project, they can bring them to the Township Hall Monday – Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
