A regular meeting of the Kinross Charter Township Board will be held on at the Township Hall.

Prior to the meeting, questions and input may be given by emailing kclerk@kinross.net. These meetings are open to the public. Members of the public attending the board meeting are asked to please wear a mask.

Farmers to Families Dairy Boxes Available

01 July 2020

Free dairy boxes from Prairie Farms are available for interested parties at the Township Hall on Mondays from 1-2pm. These boxes usually include two gallons 2% milk, 2 single serving bottles of chocolate milk, 2 single serving bottles of strawberry milk, a tub of french onion dip, and a tub of cottage cheese.

These boxes are absolutely free from Prairie Farms and available to anyone who wants one. They'll be handed out around the back of the Township Hall. Just circle around the building, and someone will be happy to help you get your box.

Thank you to Prairie Farms for making these boxes available to our community!

June 15th Electronic Board Meeting

A regular meeting of the Kinross Charter Township Board will be held on by remote access.

The public may participate by calling: (978) 990-5468 and entering the access code 705124# when prompted.

Comments must be limited to three minutes during the comment portion of the meeting, following a request for recognition. Prior to the meeting, questions and input may be given by emailing kclerk@kinross.net.

PFAS Update

13 May 2020

The Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy has returned test results on Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) in the water supply. They were unable to detect any amounts of PFAS in the water supply. More information can be found at the state of Michigan's MPART website.

Spring Clean-Up Scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2020

Each residence is allowed 2 cubic yards of material with a 500 pound maximum. This is equal to one full-size pick-up bed loaded to the top rail. Please do not place any items at the curb until the day before, or morning of May 16th.

  • All trash must be bagged, boxed, or bundled.
  • Dump Passes good May 8 - May 16, 2020
  • Curbside pick-up will start at 6:00am.
  • Senior citizens are encouraged to call the Township Hall at 906-495-5381 extension 102 in advanced, to arrange for assistance.
  • Refrigerators and air conditioners must be Freon-free and tagged.

No pick-up of hazardous materials, fluorescent light bulbs, tires, computer monitors, or paints.

For household hazardous waste disposal, contact Northern Transitions, Inc. at 906-635-5681.

Do not put compost at the curb.

It is state law--refuse handlers cannot accept leaves and brush.

Kinross Township residents may pick up a "Dump Pass" at the Township Hall. GFL at 3239 W. M-28 in Brimley will be open Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, as well as Saturday May 9th & 16th from 9:00am-12:00pm.
