Our Thanks

Kinross Charter Township and Kinross EMS would like to give a big “Thank You” to Sault Sainte Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians for their generous donation of $20,313.85. These funds will be used for operational costs such as Vehicle and Equipment Repair, Maintenance, and Replacement. We truly appreciate the support you have shown to your communities.

Northern EMS Authority

Kinross Charter Township has partnered with the Townships of Bruce, Chippewa, Detour, Hulbert, Marquette, Pickford, Raber, Rudyard, and Whitefish to form the “Northern EMS Authority”. The Articles of Incorporation have been posted in the Soo Evening News and the St. Ignace News. A governing body has been formed and officers of the board have been appointed. Bylaws and legalities are being reviewed and a feasibility study is being conducted. This has been a topic of discussion among EMS agencies throughout our county for quite some time. It will be on your regular board meeting agenda items so the public may ask questions and gain knowledge regarding your EMS department. We will also be holding some special town hall meetings on the following dates:

  • – Kinross Charter Township Hall
  • – Kinross Charter Township Hall

These town hall meetings will be informational sessions conducted for the public to provide you with some information about the history and future of EMS in your community. The public is also welcome to attend the next meeting of the Northern EMS Authority (NEMSA) which will be held on Wednesday January 10, 2024 at 6pm at the Kinross Charter Township Hall. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to your EMS Chief, Renee Gray at 906-495-6062. We appreciate your continued support.
